The love of the Beadle Family shines through in this Family Session.

I thought this would be a great time to post this story to wrap up the end of the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend.

I had the pleasure of meeting Brittney and some of her family when she was getting ready for her upcoming benefit at the Johnny Vegas Lounge in Taylor PA. This happened to be where I play a fun free poker event twice a week (play chips, it has since moved to a new location). You could tell even when first meeting Brittney that she was ready to take on her fight against stage four breast cancer. What determination and strength she has at the young age of 18 to take on such a battle and kick it’s butt!

Brittney was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer at the age of 18. Originally a missed diagnosis led to her cancer spreading. You can read more about her story in a few of these articles from The Times Tribune and Happenings Magazine which will do a better job of getting all of the details right then I could probably do here.

So we had an opportunity to donate to Brittney as well as donate a $400 gift certificate for her raffle drawing she was having at her event. Through a few phone conversations I learned that Brittney had asked if she could use that gift certificate for her own family as she wanted to be able to capture the love she has for her whole family. What an amazing thing! So I said no…. instead we will give you an additional larger one just for your family. And that is what we did.

We decided on going to McDade Park in Scranton. I found this beautiful yellow fall tree to be the background for our photos. Brittney invited her mom, brother, grandparents, and many other members of their family, which made for some amazing photos for their photo album that we made for them and additional wall art prints.

I am happy to say that Brittney is doing great with her treatments, and it was an absolute pleasure for me to get to photograph her family and hear her story. We wish her nothing but the best in the future, and hope that we can photograph their family for years to come.

Brittney wanted to pose with the Pink gloves that you see above as a way to show that she is beating cancer every day! And she is doing just that. She is in remission! Of course there is still a lot of on going treatment and testing to be done to maintain that progress. If you would like to help the Beadle family, they still have an active GoFundMe account that you can help contribute to HERE

Enjoy these photos and make sure to give us a call at 570-690-2019 to book your family session! (yes this can be done in the winter as well)

Vintage Fashion Portrait Shoot – Clarks Summit, PA

vintage white dress black 50

Today I wanted to show you a really fun shoot I did with vintage clothing and hats around my house in Clarks Summit. I love the stylish clothes of this era and our model for the day pulled the look off awesome with her curly platinum blonde hair and makeup.

All of the clothes were purchased from C. Audrey & Daughters Consignment now located in Exeter. They have some really amazing stuff and at some great prices. I will be shopping there more in the future for more outfits.

I love doing photo shoots with outfits and ideas from previous time periods. If you have an idea you would like to try let me know. Either by yourself or with your family. Do you have a classic car from the 40′s, 50′s, 60′s or even 70′s?  That could be a lot of fun to mix into your photoshoot.

Call us at 570-690-2019 to discuss.

Englewood and Hoboken NJ – Engagement Photos

Hoboken Engagmeent Photos

Laurie and Brian’s engagement session was a lot of fun! It took me to places that I have not yet been to, which for me is always a gift. It allows me to explore and create in an environment that I have not yet tapped into, which sparks tons of new ideas. As you can see in the first image above, this is just a random wall of a parking deck in which I loved the continuing pattern and the additional graphic added to it by the sunlight and shadow of the trees.

Their engagement went to several locations that meant a lot to them as they were dating. This is something that I always highly recommend when selecting your locations. We started in Englewood NJ and went to the Englewood boat basin. We then went to this amazing location called Englewood Cliffs, where we were able to get a cool overlook of the city. Following that, we jumped in the car to head to Hoboken, NJ near the waterfront and piers as well as the Frank Sinatra Park. Finally ending in the town more of Hoboken where there was a street fair taking place.

We had absolutely beautiful weather, amazing skies, and a great couple. This makes my job easy in creating photos.  Take a look at a few more images below from their session.

2015 bookings are heating up as we enter one of the busiest time of year for people getting engaged. Book us now by going HERE or call 570-690-2019

Elegant Engagement Session – Scranton Radisson Lackawanna Station

Scranton_Radisson_Lackawanna_Engagement_Photos_009

With Lacie and Jonathan’s wedding coming up soon for New Years Eve I thought this would be a great time to show you some of their awesome engagement images from the Scranton Radisson at Lackwanna Station.

This was a two part photo shoot where we mixed both a more elegant and formal element, which fits nicely at the Lackawanna Station, with a fun outdoor portion as well.

I had a ton of fun working with Lacie and Jonathan and I can’t wait to get started at their wedding. The Scranton Cultural center always has a lot of great opportunities for creative photos.

A ton more blog posts coming over the next few weeks, so keep checking back. In the mean time check out more of their photos below.

Here are a few more images from my fashion portrait series I did with this beautiful model while testing the Phase One IQ140 Medium Format Digital Camera. You will see that I started out the shoot out in the snow near sunset to test some of the cameras dynamic range ability. Then we moved inside to work with some studio setups.

The outfit that you see outside was actually made by a local designer from the Stillwater PA area, Nicole Dumond. A big thanks to her for letting us borrow that as well as some more outfits that you will see in upcoming posts.

Enjoy and feel free to leave comments.

Testing In the studio with the Phase One IQ140 camera system!

Photographed with the Phase One 645 df w/ IQ140 back

This week I am doing tests with the Phase One 645df camera with the IQ140 back. This is a medium format digital camera, and before you get too worried, no I will not be boring you with all of the crazy technical details. It’s a very different system then I am use to with lots of pluses and some minuses as well. With any camera it has it’s quirks that must be learned.

The photo above features a local HairArtist and Barber Mikey Henger, from the Berwick area. If you are looking for something creative or just regular services, definitely check out the links to his work below.

I will be doing shoots the next couple of days including more portraits as well as some product shots and would love to share some of those with you guys for something new to show. And for all the camera nerds out there, I’ll give you more thoughts later on it as well as my ultimate decisiont.

Stay tuned for more!

DAY 27 – FEATURE IMAGE: Taken in a Parking Lot

Fashion wedding photo in Dickson City, PA

All of my work has a flair for creating things out of nothing. I like to go to ordinary places and change them into something fantastic. This is another example of that idea. I do get a lot of people that like my sky shots and this spot always has great views.

This is taken in a random parking lot over looking Dickston City and Scranton near the shopping centers in Dickson City. Yes, I am a being a little secretive as to where as I love shooting in that area so much.

The neat thing about this photo is that the area no longer exists. There is now a store where these rocks once stood. It’s sad that it is gone, however it also the photo and the experience a lot more fun. There is something very cool about knowing no one else can take this type of photo in this area again.

If you are interested in having one of a kind images for your wedding photography, please contact us to scheduling a meeting or to book your wedding! Spots still available for 2013 and 2014.
