As you may know about me, I am a huge movie fan. When I am not working or doing something photography related, you can often find me in my movie room (man cave) that I put in my house. Being a bachelor I can get away with this. I do find when I talk about this room I get a lot of bride’s to be ask why I gave their husband’s to be the idea of having a movie room in the house. Well because it’s tons of fun!

It’s been a great year for movies, and movie news. We recently heard the George Lucas sold his rights to Star Wars to Disney to start a whole new adventure. With this will come 3 new Star Wars movies as well as two spin off movies for Boba Fett and Hans Solo. SPOLIER ALERT: One theory is that the new star wars trilogy will follow the kids of Hans Solo and Leia as they try to rebuild the Jedi way. We may even see the 3 main stars; Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford return in some capacity. Isn’t that exciting?

We saw the end to the great Batman trilogy this year. Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister are one of my favorite pairs in cinema today.

Other notables this year was Skyfall, with one of the greatest opening credit/music scenes I may have ever seen in the past 5 years, the Hobbit, Looper, The Avengers, Prometheus, and thank goodness the Twilight series came to an end. A movie you might have missed this year that was really amazing was Moonrise Kingdom. If you have not yet seen this movie I highly recommend it as a rental. It stars Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman.

There were a lot of great movies that I even missed this year that I can’t wait to see on video like Lincoln, Silver Linings Playbook, Life of Pi, and Argo. I know, I can’t believe I missed all of those as well, and I do feel ashamed.

Below is a list of the upcoming movies that I am really excited to see for this upcoming year. It is going to be a GREAT year, starting off with Oz the Great and Powerful next week. The highlight for me will definitely be Superman: Man of Steel. Although I was one of the few that liked the last Superman Returns, Christopher Nolan and his brother have their hand in this movie, and I expect it to be amazing! Here is the trailer if you have not yet seen it:

As a superhero geek, I am also very excited for Iron Man 3! See trailer below:

And to round out the geekness, and I am not even a huge Star Trek Fan, but this movie looks amazing. Star Trek Into Darkness

I hope you enjoyed this fun post and keep checking back all month for a new post each day. Tomorrow’s post will be about wedding tips!

A bride and bridesmaids review images from earlier in the day

Did you know that at most of the weddings I photograph I am able to show some of the images from earlier in the day at your reception! The same day slideshows are included in most of my wedding options and are done (time permitting) by taking 20-30 images from earlier in the day, editing them on my laptop and displaying for you later at your reception on a laptop or screen that sits on a side table, cycling for the rest of the night.

This does not stop or distract from your wedding reception. The images play on a non stop slideshow and people can view them at their leisure when they are not dancing or eating. It creates a great visual experience for your wedding reception guests, and they absolutely love it!

Above you see an image from the Highlands at Newberry Estates of the bride and her bridesmaids viewing the images.

We are able to do things like this because our images are created in camera, as opposed to having to rely on photoshop trickery, effects, or ‘saving it in photoshop’. You can see in the image above taken at the Huntsville Golf Club in Shavertown PA we can also put an email sign up sheet next to the slideshow. This allows us to email interested guests from your wedding, when the photos are finished to be viewed online or to purchase prints of their own.

I have done these ever since I begin a wedding photographer, and they have always been a great hit. It is also great for me because I love hearing the instant feedback from both the couple and their guests as to what they think about the images that I created for them earlier.

My images are all one of a kind, so the reaction of the guests to seeing our images tend to be things like; “wow I have never seen that before”, “How did they do that?” , “where was that taken?”, “I can’t believe we get to see them already”, and much more.

kennebunkport maine wedding photo

Hello everyone

I come to you with the first of 4 big announcement that we have coming out in the next few weeks! I am happy to let you know that we have been selected as a member of the FEARLESS photographers group. This is a group that features photographers that think outside of the box of the normal wedding boring photos, and create one of a kind images.

We are the only photographer with this association in the Scranton and Wilkes Barre area. The above image was taken in Kennebunkport, Maine.

“Fearless Photographers is a directory of more than 1,800 of the world’s boldest wedding photographers for brides and grooms who truly love photography”… Fearless website

This month we will be sending in a ton of our work to be considered for what is called the Fearless Photo Awards, showcases only the top 5-10% of that already exclusive group. I am excited to submit and have our images featured.

It is not enough to just be a “Fearless” photographer, but it also requires “Fearless” couples that give us the trust to photograph your wedding while also creating something truly different and one of a kind.

Are you Fearless??? Then we are the photographer for you!

We are back again with another wedding album to show you. This time we have both the wedding album and parents clone album. A clone album is an exact copy of your images and pages but in a smaller sized album. They are great for parents or gifts!

Amie & James’ wedding took place at the Highlands at Newberry Estates and their engagement session was in New York City.

The main album features a different take on a similar album I posted a few days ago, by adding a second accent leather strip to the cover. The Parents album features our new line of albums with a blue textured cover.

Enjoy and as always don’t forget to click the g+1 button at the top or bottom of this post as well as contact us about your 2013-14 weddings!

Parents albums this time? Yup! Our brand new parents albums are awesome. Jaime and George actually had their wedding close to two years ago now, but decided since they didn’t have a lot of time for portraits on their wedding day, that they would do an after wedding session. An after wedding session can be the day after your wedding or months or years after. They can be booked if we photographed your wedding or not. It’s a lot of fun, and a great excuse to get that wedding dress back out and have more fun, either by yourself or with your new husband.

Their after wedding session took place in the Jersey City, NJ area and around Liberty Island area with the great scenic background of New York City. It was a great time that started about an hour before sunset and went into the night. There were also images captured inside of their reception location which was the Westin Jersey City. A beautiful hotel with scenic views. It’s a great hotel for New York City events because you can just jump on the path train that is a small walk away.

They decided at that time to make some parents albums for Christmas gifts for their parents. That is right, if you haven’t yet ordered parents albums from your wedding, you can still do so! We keep the files from your wedding safe forever.

Check out the images below, and look for a post down the road with their new album made with their After Wedding Images as well as some from the wedding. I’ll just tell you now…. it looks amazing!

As always if you like what you see, click on the G +1 button at the top or bottom of the post, and call us about your 2013-14 weddings.
