Throwback Thursday: Fashion shoot at Bar Louie

IMG_3634ed3c

Today I thought I would do something fun, and maybe an on going post each week, to look back at some older photos that I did in a “throw back” type of post. These photos were done at Bar Louie at the Mohegan Sun in Wilkes Barre to celebrate the winners of the Man and Woman Model of the Year with the Weekender. These were photographed in 2009. How on earth was that 6 years ago! Phil, Christina, and Ashley are featured in these sets wearing amazing outfits that we had on loan for the day.  Check them out and tell me what you think in the comments!

Vintage Fashion Portrait Shoot – Clarks Summit, PA

vintage white dress black 50

Today I wanted to show you a really fun shoot I did with vintage clothing and hats around my house in Clarks Summit. I love the stylish clothes of this era and our model for the day pulled the look off awesome with her curly platinum blonde hair and makeup.

All of the clothes were purchased from C. Audrey & Daughters Consignment now located in Exeter. They have some really amazing stuff and at some great prices. I will be shopping there more in the future for more outfits.

I love doing photo shoots with outfits and ideas from previous time periods. If you have an idea you would like to try let me know. Either by yourself or with your family. Do you have a classic car from the 40′s, 50′s, 60′s or even 70′s?  That could be a lot of fun to mix into your photoshoot.

Call us at 570-690-2019 to discuss.

MODEL SEARCH – Dancers Wanted for video project

jaime ballet dancer agt

Jaime in Dumbo Park NYC , who participated in AGT 2013

I am currently in search for someone that is trained in Ballet as well as a bit of modern dance (if you do both that is perfect). Someone that can be in the Scranton/Clarks Summit area is ideal, but other areas are possible as well, including Philadelphia and New York City. First preference will be to those that are over the age of 18, but will consider 16 or older with parental consent.

I am working on a video project and I would like to find 1-3 gals and/or guys that would like to participate in a fun collaborative project.

If you are interested, please send me a message so that we can talk further. Please let me know your dance experience and the different styles in which you are trained. I can talk more about the general idea of the project  at that time.

PLEASE: also feel free to send this out to people that you know that are dancers. I would love to start this project  before it starts getting too cold.

It’s going to be a really fun project, so if you love to dance, then this is perfect for you!!

To contact me for this project, please go to: http://www.jeffdietzphotography.com/dance-search-contact.html

Thanks!

DAY 13 – FEATURE IMAGE: MODEL PHOTO SHOOT WITH THE CANON 1DX

model photos scranton pa

Model photo at Lackawanna State Park

Photographer is always an on going education for those of us that take what we do seriously. Often, I will go out and have some fun on what we will call a test shoot. It’s an opportunity to try new things, new lighting, or to test out new equipment.

This particular shoot with model Christina included almost all of those aspects. I was given a Canon 1dx from Canon to do some testing with for one week and I tried to take full advantage of it. What you are seeing above is actually an in camera multiple exposure image. Multiple exposures are becoming really popular in fashion magazines lately and it was a new feature of this camera to try out. It’s a little bit different then the old days of film where you would double expose the image on the same negative. What it will do is take two consecutive images and merges them together.

It is definitely a tricky thing to work with as you have to be careful of framing of the image of what you are putting on top of each other.

Well the big announcement is here! I am proud to announce that we are one of only 3 photographers in all of Pennsylvania to be named to the Grace Ormonde Wedding Style Magazine Platinum List!

If you are not familiar with the Grace Ormonde magazine, you should really check it out. It has been a source of inspiration for me for a long time now. To be included in their magazine is a great honor. It is a statement by them that we are at the top of our industry and represent the highest quality of images and product. The magazine features some of the most exclusive and elaborate weddings anywhere in the world.

This comes at a great time for us as we are expanding to cover new markets in a big and exciting way. Of course our home is still in the Scranton area and very much enjoy working with everyone as we have over the past 7 years, and will absolutely continue to do so. We will now also be opening the markets of New Jersey, New York, Miami, Italy, and Austria. We are of course still available for any wedding anywhere in the world, and really look forward to expanding even further over the next few years.

What else does this mean? Well we will have a few price adjustments that will start Jan 1. 2013. The great thing is that anyone that is currently booked or books their wedding before that date, will be locked into the current prices no matter what happens on Jan. 1. We will also be introducing the ‘destination wedding package’ which will feature 3 days of photography; engagement style session the day before, the wedding day, and an after wedding session the day after.

I will also be launching another brand new website. I know it seems like I just launched a new website (and I did), but I have made even more changes to make the experience even easier and enjoyable for people.

There are still some great dates open for 2013 and we are already starting to book for 2014. So definitely give us a call and get on board for what is going to be a great 2013 and 2014 season!

ALSO CALL US TO ASK ABOUT THE CYBER MONDAY AND TUESDAY SALE ON NOVEMBER 26 & 27, 2012

Fill out the contact form on our website or feel free to give me a call at (570) 690-2019

Hi Everyone
Yesterday I posted a quick video about how I was heading out to do a fun test shoot with a new girl and trying out some shots with a new makeup artist as well (new to me). It was definitely a lot of fun!
The rain held off which was a great thing as we know electronic equipment doesn’t find the rain as much fun as I do. We started out on the top of a parking deck with Scranton in the background. After a bunch of shooting up there (and only one beauty dish biting the dust due to the wind, despite two sand bags), I ventured with her down into the streets of Scranton as well for a little bit more playing around.

I believe in doing these fun test shoots once in a while just as a way of continually educating myself, pushing my limits, and most importantly keeping the creative juices flowing. It is so important. And especially when you photograph as I do, striving for all one of a kind images. That is why so many wedding and portrait photographers today have been stuck in a rut taking the same 10 photos that they have taken for the past 30 years at a wedding.

The couples that book me for their weddings, want something completely different, new, fresh, and creative. Which is why I am constantly working to improve and come up with new ideas!

Enjoy a few images from the session as I am currently still editing a bunch of others.
