Yearly Archives: 2010

I have received a lot of interest in bringing my creative and unique style of wedding and portrait photography to Family Photos this year. I did a few sessions in the last couple of months and they have really been a lot of fun. I think I have come up with a few ways that will make them even more fun going into 2011.

Will this be your typical cheesy “everyone wear your christmas sweaters in front of the horrible backdrop” photos? Absolutely not!

All sessions will be on location only. That means you pick it, or lets collaborate on a beautiful outdoor location.

Now… here it where it gets even more fun! There will be top options for sessions. The, dare I say, more ‘traditional’ yet still stylish outdoor sessions, or the full out themed sessions! The themed sessions are going to be wild! We will bring in a hair/makeup team and also meet to coloborate on wardrobe selection, idea/concept, and execution. You want something truely unique? You want to look like your family stepped out of a magazine or television show? Lets do it!

Make family photos a fun experience for the entire family again!

Pricing information is soon to come, so if you are interested in either of these, please send me a message through our contact form on the wedding or portrait sites listed below. A new site is in the works to showcase these images as well. Of course the themed session will be an increased price, but what fun it will be!

I am really excited about these new sessions. I will be launching a sale soon for all those that want to pre-book their spots. I will only have 1 spot available per day due to the length and time needed for the sessions.

Sign up at either site and mention FAMILY SESSION, for more info:

I had a really fun family photo shoot at Harvey’s Lake in Dallas PA on Wednesday. A family of about 20 gathered out by their dock on the lake for some fun, yet cold, photos! The kids seemed to have a great time as well.

Here is just one quick shot of one of the individual family shots that I did while I was there.

I hope that you enjoy and that you all have a great Thanksgiving Thursday…….. and have fun shopping Friday as well!

Now I am going to start this post by saying I am normally very much a naturalist when it comes to my photography. Once in a while I get an idea for more of a creation photo such as the one we will show in this post. I wanted the mood of the room to come through a bit more and for the image to be a bit more edgy and dark. With the flashes that I had with me, this wasn’t going to happen. So I decided to light this scene with just a flash light and compose the images together after the fact. Again, to all those photographers out there that think “oh, I’ll just fix it in photoshop”, this is not anything like that.

This image was taken at the McSurdy wedding before the ceremony (yes we did their portraits before the ceremony), at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes Barre, PA. I decided to make a video of the creation of this image just because I thought it would be fun. It’s actually set to a piece of music that I played and recorded some time back in 2002 when I had my home recording setup still setup and was playing around with making some music. So yes, you get to hear a Jeff Dietz original! haha. Don’t be too critical, I am not a piano player haha. I just thought it would be fun to use it as I found it in my files of mp3′s.

Also posted below is the finished image. However in the video it is done in black and white, and I actually decided I like the color version better.

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well! I am going to have tons of posts for you coming soon and new updates to the website. Today I am sitting at Northern Lights coffee shop in Scranton, PA working on Jaime & George’s wedding album. I figured I would post up a few photos for you to check out while I finish everything with their album and images! It was a fun wedding that took place at the Westin in Jersey City, NJ. This wedding featured two ceremonies; a Tea Ceremony in the afternoon and a traditional ceremony in the evening.

Here are a few images of Jaime getting ready to check out and enjoy!

If you are getting married in 2011 or 2012, make sure to get a hold of me to book your date asap before they are all gone!

When I say we offer the areas ONLY creative, one of a kind Senior Portrait Sessions… Boy do I mean it!

Hey everyone

Wow what a fun day I had today. Today I photographed a senior portrait at the Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, PA. Having been someone that grew up watching the Nascar races and going to the track and seeing my favorite drivers, it was really a fun experience being able to walk and drive on the track as I took the photos.

I got to go in all kinds of cool spots including on top of the camera area on top of the grand stands, the pits, winners circle, the start/finish line, the stands, and even up in turn 1 ahigh the 15 degrees of banking! It was so much fun!

It’s also really cool knowing that I am photographing in a spot that no one else is going to be able to show they did a senior portrait session at. That makes it really fun and exciting for me and the senior! It’s such a fun job I have to go to cool places like this and really just think outside the box in creating some fun photos.

I was nervous we weren’t going to have any fun clouds, but about half way through the session, there they came! They rolled in creating for some really awesome scenary that you see below. It was awesome how the sun popped out right above the grand stands.

When you want something fun, different, creative, and one of a kind in Senior Portraits, there is only 1 option. HIRE US!

Enjoy a few quick photos from the session.
